Hi,
this line from stack trace
>org.apache.openjpa.jdbc.conf.JDBCConfigurationImpl.createConnectionFactory (JDBCConfigurationImpl.java:784)

indicates that the correct configuration has not been picked up.

Did you specify
 <property name="openjpa.BrokerFactory"     value="slice"/>

in your persistence.xml file?
