Okay,

So I need to make the move to scripterer and programming language
tinkerer, to making more elaborate programes
And I decided to pick Grails to move me their.

The online, for my level of skills did not move me beyond the basic CRUD grails.
So I will get the pdf version of the new book from APress : Beginning
Groovy and Grails From Novice to Professional.

I also decided I could benefit from a Groovy book, I can see that the
Groovy documentation are huge, and I am sure
they have all I need to known and in my opinion and way more elaborate
than the grails docs.
But I think a book might help to get a complete picture of Groovy
quicker and more gently, and save me time.

For Grails, well, there wasn't much choices Beginning Grails is the
only up-to-date book.

But for Groovy, I have 2 srious options, Groovy in action and
Programming Groovy.
If you bought both, which one you liked better and which one would you
recommend for me!

I read the ToC of both and my first impression is that Groovy in
Action is the safer bet! Biggere more complete, cover more areas.
But programming groovy is newer and have some very interesting
sub-titles which really touch the right cord for the tinkerer in me.

Programming is just too thin, this could be a good thing, if it means
the book is always straight to the point, but still I am afraid that
it might also indicate that the book just barely touches these topics.

Please give your recommendation.
Remmeber I am not new to programming concepts ... I am just new to
more serious programming.
So I think book with a cookbook approach and a brief description of
Groovy differences would be the better fit for me!

Regards,
Ali M.
