With the help of dotTrace I found an issue how NHibernate converts a column to a guid in its IDataReader. I posted the issue here http://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?t=982533. I had an hour over this morning and did some tests and can confirm that the GuidType’s Get method can easily be implemented approx 10 times faster.

Unfortunately I have low (=none) experience how to contribute to an open source project. The question is… how do I put this in the trunk? Does everyone have permission to check in new stuff? Or should I send it to the JIRA? If the latter, for curiosity, who decides what to be put in the trunk in an open source project?
